The current (COVID) spin

We’ve come a long way together in two decades, my girls and I. These days Aida lives with three housemates and 24-hour care and supervision, a perfect 20-minute drive away from me. Visiting is currently limited, but she’s learning to use FaceTime and loves to surprise me with midnight calls from under her covers. Mimi is off at college in the Midwest (except when she’s not, because COVID), pursuing a liberally artsy double major. I’m sometimes prone to forget that they’re adults now, but they remind me frequently, and I’m learning to furnish this sometimes-empty nest with fun new things as I gleefully slide from Mother to Crone. Dragon Lover has courageously joined his family with mine in the spin cycle (and vice versa!), and our eight-pound Wonderdog is also along for the ride.
